As DASSH Data Manager, I oversee the processing of data through DASSH from initial archive through to publication, as well as other external facing roles within MEDIN (Marine Environmental Data and Information Network), iNaturalist, iRecord etc. In my spare time I enjoy wild swimming, paddle boarding, and basically anything in or on the water.

Chloe Figueroa Ashforth

DASSH Senior Data Officer, The Marine Biological Association

I joined the MBA at the start of 2023 as the Senior Data Officer for the DASSH (data archive for marine species and habitats) team.  I assist with the digitisation, standardisation, quality assurance and sign off of marine biodiversity data sets, as well as managing placement students, responding to data enquiries and representing DASSH at external meetings.  I am a keen SCUBA diver and enjoy putting my marine ID skills to the test when out on dives.

I am a DASSH Officer involved with the digitisation, standardisation and archiving of Marine Biodiversity datasets.  I study Marine Conservation at Newquay University Centre, volunteer regularly with Cornwall Seal Research Trust and am a Marine Mammal Surveyor with Orca.

Megan Mardle

Data Officer, The Marine Biological Association

I started at the Marine Biological Association (MBA) in 2021 as part of a University placement year with DASSH and MarLIN. I now hold the part time position of DASSH Data Officer. I am responsible for the digitisation, standardisation and quality assurance of marine biodiversity datasets and liaising with internal and external data providers within the archive to ensure smooth delivery of DASSH.   Alongside my role as DASSH Data Officer I am also in my final year of BSc (Hons) Marine Biology and Oceanography at the University of Plymouth.
