Ben is a writer and journalist who has written about war, refugees and climate change. He has published three notable and award winning books: ‘Radio Congo’, ‘City of Thorns’, ‘The Treeline’. He is also the founder and director of Black Mountains College in Wales.

In this talk Ben will speak about the general challenges of writing about climate change and earth system processes for a lay audience as well as the specifics of his new project: communicating the complexities of the Gulf Stream system in the work of popular science.
