FAQs

What time does the event start?  What time does the event start?

The Young Marine Biologist Summit will start at 10:00 UK time (GMT) and will continue until 16:00 UK time (GMT).  If you are joining us from other parts of the world please check the local time where you are so that you don’t miss out.  Here is a useful timezone website to use but make sure to set the date.

Ensure your system's volume is not muted and turn it up if necessary.  Make sure any external devices (headphones, Bluetooth devices) you want to use are either plugged in/connected correctly or not plugged in if you are not using them.  Be sure to also check your device's audio settings. 

If you are experiencing an echo please make sure you only have one tab open on your browser or phone.

If you visit this page you will find all the presenters and their talk abstracts listed, to find out more about each speaker click ‘Find out more’.

Please add any questions to the Q&A tab on the right hand side (if you are using a mobile device it might appear below the main feed).  If it is for a specific presenter please add their name.

Throughout the day we will be keeping an eye out and answering some questions in the chat. While we will absolutely try our best to answer as many of your questions as possible, we cannot guarantee that all questions will be answered.

Yes! The whole event will be available to watch on this page for up to one month after the event.

MBA Members will be able to access each of the individual talks through MyMBA Member's online resource area after this.

Yes! booking will remain open throughout the event and they can be made on this page.

What is the Young Marine Biologist Club and how do I attend?   What is the Young Marine Biologist Club and how do I attend?

The Young Marine Biologist Club is a monthly online club, exclusively for Young Marine Biologist Members of the MBA (open to join if you are under 18 and only £15 a year).  Once you are a Member, go to MyMBA and sign up for the monthly clubs under the events tab.  You will then be sent a link to join.  We also provide our Young Marine Biologist Members with a recording of the speaker sessions of the club so that they can catch up on the presentations and career information.

The Club is strictly for young people under the age of 18.  This is to ensure we can keep young people safe. However, the speaker presentations, including career information, will be uploaded to your Member resources page on MyMBA meaning you can still gain information as a Member despite not being able to actively join the Young Marine Biologist Club.
