We host an online community where young people from across the world can learn together, share experiences and build the foundations of a relationship with our Ocean.
Our scientific talks are just one of the benefits of being a member of the MBA, some are also open to the public. So whether you are a professional marine biologist or just inspired to learn more about marine biology please come along.
Courses that complement your continuous professional development as a marine biologist, these courses are run by industry leading experts both in person and online.
We are pleased to announce the 2025 MBA Postgraduate Conference "Tides of Change: Fostering Connectivity Across Marine Disciplines” will be hosted by the University of Hull. Join us for three inspiring days of discussions, innovation, and collaboration as we work together to tackle the most pressing challenges facing our ocean.
Universities and other institutes regularly bring groups of students to our Plymouth based lab for field trips and boat based survey work. The historic backdrop of the MBA’s original lab alongside the fantastic coastline of the south west of England and the facilities and expertise the MBA has to offer makes this the ideal location for gaining hands-on field experience.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Marine Biological Association is open to all members. Each year the AGM is preceded by a talk from a prestigious scientist and is open to both members and non-members.
These camps, run in partnership with the Marine Biological Association (MBA), are for young people between 16 and 25 years old who are interested in marine biology and marine science. Each camp, held in different parts of the UK, will have its own unique flavour.
Working in partnership with organisations across the UK the MBA’s Bioblitz has brought together participants of all ages and all levels of experience to record biodiversity in marine and related habitats during a set time period.
