Where will the conference be held?
The 22nd MBA Postgraduate Conference will take place across two of Newcastle University’s key marine science locations.
All oral presentations and keynote talks will be held in the Armstrong building on the Newcastle University campus, providing an accessible and vibrant setting in the heart of the city.
The poster session and evening networking event will be hosted at the historic Dove Marine Laboratory in Cullercoats. Located on the coast and home to a wide range of marine research facilities, the Dove Marine Laboratory offers a unique environment that highlights the north easts marine heritage.

Easy access, wherever you are
Our location between London and Edinburgh – puts us within pretty convenient distance of most parts of the UK. Newcastle's road, rail, air and sea links are so good that visitors can easily get to us from all over the country, and in fact from all over the world.
By train
There are regular direct trains from London, taking as little as 3 hours from King’s Cross, as well as fast, direct access from northern England and Scotland, while destinations to the west are also well connected.

Coaches to Hull are available via National Express and link with other national and European services. The main coach terminal is located on Churchill Street and is a short walk from Newcastle railway station.

From overseas
If you’re coming from further afield Newcastle offers convenient ferry connections to mainland Europe. From the Port of Tyne, you can take a direct ferry to Amsterdam (IJmuiden) in the Netherlands.
Newcastle airport is located about 6 miles from the city centre offering links across Europe.
Other nearby airports include Leeds Bradford and Edinburgh and Manchester airports have many international links.
Accommodation and Food
Is accommodation included in the conference fee?
No, your ticket to the conference does not include accommodation. For a list of suggested accommodation, click ADD LINK
Are meals provided?
Refreshments will be provided for each day of the conference. There will also be a conference dinner, but you will need to add the dinner option to your ticket to be able to attend this.
What dietary restrictions are being catered for?
We will be able to cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free, however please specify your dietary needs when booking your ticket so that we ensure there is enough food provided.
Registration
I can only attend part of the course; can I get a discount on the ticket?
Unfortunately we cannot offer discounted tickets if you are unable to attend the entire conference.

This conference is for postgraduate students and early career researchers studying/working in the field of marine science.

If you are successfully selected for presenting a poster the specifications will be sent to you in an email.

If you are successfully selected for presenting a talk the specifications will be sent to you via email.
Timetable
What networking opportunities are there at the conference?
There will be time to network during coffee and lunch breaks in the conference. Additionally we will be holding an ice breaker event and a conference dinner to maximize chances for people to connect.
Where will the events take place?
The conference will be held at the University of Hull campus. Hull is not only home to world-class marine research institutions but also to a vibrant waterfront and rich marine biodiversity. Attendees can enjoy the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of this historic coastal city.
