Under 18 and love marine biology? Become a Young Marine Biologist!

Our popular ‘YMB’ category is aimed at younger marine enthusiasts who are under 18 and keen to learn more about the fascinating world of our oceans and coastlines.

You can buy a Young Marine Biologist membership as a gift for a young person or for yourself for just £20 a year.

Studying marine biology OR a related subject? Become a Student Member.  

Join hundreds of other students studying marine biology and related subjects. Our student member category is available to all undergraduate students registered in full time University education.

*Master and PhD students are eligible to join the Post Graduate membership category, to benefit from professional standing at significantly reduced rate (same fee as Student membership).

This membership category is for undergraduates studying marine biology or a related subject and registered in University education. If you are a postgraduate student, you can access the Professional Postgraduate membership category.

Are you a post-graduate student or have you graduated in the last 3 years? You can benefit from our discounted Professional Membership.

Join our community of professionals working across all areas of Marine Biology including research, science support, education, communications and policy. You wll benefit from a discounted fee for the length of your post graduate study and for three years post qualification.

This membership category is for newly qualified marine biology graduates, graduates of related fields of study, for up to three years post-graduation.
